CCA Stay Undefeated with 5-1 Toppling of Phoenix FC
20 Mar 2019 by Mark Pallo
With a rare Tuesday night fixture on the books due to our earlier weather postponement the Alliance took the field on a chilly night to square off against Phoenix FC in what is typically a very good match-up. Both teams oozing with talent, patience and an overwhelming desire to win.
This night saw multiple goal scorers in a very tight match through the break. Todd Jones would find net early in the second half in what would eventually be the game winning goal. Phoenix would see a spot kick late in the second half, 5-1 final.
“The turf suits us well,” noted midfield general Jimmy Kupec, aka “the gift” during his post-match interview. And was he ever right. It was a definite advantage for the speed & direct style of play exhibited by the Alliance on this night; not to mention the team trains weekly on the artificial surface.
A strong effort all around as the club ups its record to 3-0.
