CCA Hang On To Beat Division Rivals; Improve to 2-1

3 Mar 2018 by Mark Pallo

The Capital City Alliance upped their record to 2-1 today after registering a hard fought 1-0 victory over division rival Greyhounds.

It was a tale of two halves in terms of maintaining possession with blustery winds at the WRAL Soccer Complex.

Robbie scored the lone goal of the match on a one-timer just outside the box 10 minutes into the start of the second half. Shortly after the goal the Greyhounds saw red with their forward capturing his second yellow of the game.

CCA saw the match out but not without some close calls as the Greyhounds pushed for the equalizer.

Next up: Newcastle at Twin Lakes Park. 12 Noon kickoff on Saturday March 10.
